Registration of account and selection of supervisor for new FYP students (Semester I 2014/2015)

New FYP students must first register for an account on FYP Online and select a Supervisor for their project. Click here for explanation on the account registration and supervisor selection procedures.
Provided below is the list of supervisors to choose from. Since the selection is based on "first come first serve" basis, students are advised to have several names in mind.
The registration and selection process will be conducted via FYP Online beginning 10:00 AM on 26 August 2014 (Tuesday).

FYP 2 students must prepare three (3) hard-bound copies of their final report that comply with guidelines found in the UTHM Thesis Writing Guide.
FYP 1 Semester I 2014/2015

Students who have registered for BFC 43402 (Final Year Project 1) through SMAP Online will be required to register on the faculty's FYP Online system and select a supervisor. The system will open for the aforementioned purposes one to two weeks before the new semester begins in September 2014. We will announce the date on this website. Please check for updates.
FYP Seminar Takes Place 1 - 5 June

FYP students will present their project proposals (FYP 1) and completed projects (FYP 2) during the Seminar on Civil and Environmental Engineering Final Year Projects that is scheduled to run from 1st to 5th June 2014. Nomination of Technical Paper

Submission of Project Proposal and Draft Final Report

Students must submit three (3) hardcopies of their Project Proposal (FYP 1) or Draft Final Report (FYP 2) to the FKAAS Office by 5:00 PM, 14 May 2014 (Wednesday). Early submission is greatly encouraged.
Please take note of the following:
Note: Please allow your supervisor one to two weeks to check your draft. Therefore, you are encouraged to hand in your draft to your supervisor during Week 10.

FYP Methodology Classes

The FYP Methodology Classes for newly registered FYP 1 students will be held on 27 February 2014 (Thursday) from 2:00 - 5:00 PM. Attendance is compulsory. Students have been divided into four (4) groups, according to their field of engineering. Please check your name in the file given below and make sure you get your venue right.
Submission of FYP Title/Synopsis, Prepare Your Logbook and Read Our Guidelines

FYP 1 students, kindly take note of the following:
(1) You MUST submit your FYP Title and Synopsis via FYP Online for approval by the Head of Engineering Panel. Discuss with your Supervisor and get his/her approval before entering the details online. You should use the FYP Title And Summary form. The closing date for submission is 28 February 2014.
(2) All students MUST print and bind the FYP Logbook on your own.You are required to bring your Logbook to each meeting with your Supervisor.
(3) Read the faculty's Guidelines For The Implementation Of Final Year Project.
Registration of New and Repeating FYP 1 Students and Selection of Supervisor

New and repeating FYP 1 students (Semester 2 2013/2014) are required to register themselves on the FYP Online system and select their supervisor. The system opens on 10 February 2014 (Monday) at 10:00 am and closes on 17 February 2014 (Monday). Please read the information on the procedure here.

Submission Of Hard-bound Copies Of FYP Final Report

FYP 2 students must prepare a total of three (3) hard-bound copies of their Final Report that comply with the format stated in the UTHM Thesis Writing Guide.
Submit two (2) copies that have been approved by your supervisor to the FKAAS Office no later than 5:00 PM, 12 January 2014 (Sunday) along with the Submission Of Hard-bound Final Report form.
Submit one (1) copy to your supervisor.

As for the presentation schedules, these are subject to change. The official schedules will be revealed during Week 13 of the academic calendar.
Submission of FYP Reports

FYP 1 and FYP 2 students, you will be required to submit your Project Proposal (FYP 1) and Draft Final Report (FYP 2) that has been approved by your Supervisor to the Faculty during Week 12 of the UTHM academic year (2nd to 6th December 2013). Failure to submit these reports will result in you being prohibited from presenting at the FYP Seminar, which in turn will result in you being given Grade E (Fail). Kindly refer to the FYP Guidelines (sections 9.5.2 and 11.0)

FYP Methodology Class

FYP 1 and FYP 2 students, there will be a FYP Methodology Class on September 18, 2013 (Wednesday) from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Attendance is compulsory. The venues for the classes are as follows:

FYP 1 students (Semester 1 2013/2014), please register yourselves on FYP Online and select a Supervisor. The system will be open from Monday, 26 August 2013 to Sunday, 8 September 2013. Selection of supervisor is on "first come first serve" basis.
When registering, please use your full name and DO NOT use the apostrophe symbol (') in your name if you have one. The following user manual explains how you should register and select a supervisor.
